The sounds of summer will fill the air on Saturday, May 31 as the Saint Louis Jazz & Heritage Festival once again transforms Clayton’s Shaw Park for the eighth season of the region’s premier music festival. We are pleased to present for the first time at the jazz festival Cassandra Wilson, Joe Sample and Randy Crawford, Tito Puente, Jr., Lao Tizer with special guests Chieli Minucci and Karen Briggs, Teddy Presberg, Ptah Williams with the music of Stevie Wonder, the St. Louis Jazz Orchestra, The Brian Owens Group and Two Times True featuring Carolbeth and David True.

To round out your festival experience, we are bringing back festival favorites -The Improv, offering hands-on musical experiences for jazzters of all ages, such as “make your own instrument!” and The Instrument Petting Zoo, in collaboration with The Music Center of Kirkwood, an area that will provide guests an opportunity to make their own “jazz” using trombones, guitars, saxophones, trumpets, flutes, violins and an array of percussion instruments. Soul School, presented by Jazz St. Louis will feature the best regional jazz artists in an intimate setting serving up an “all access” experience of conversations and performances. Located next to the U. S. Cellular Garden Seating Area will be the Festival’s food court, featuring restaurants and concessions that will serve delectable dishes. Beer, wine, soda and water will also be available for purchase during the Festival.
Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a parent or guardian (general admission only). The Saint Louis Jazz & Heritage Festival will take place rain or shine. No animals are allowed at the festival except for support dogs per Clayton ordinance 4-13 and no in-line skates, skateboards, bicycles or segways are allowed per Clayton ordinance 21-26. No backpacks, coolers or food and beverage are allowed to be taken into the Festival.
